The Glock 48 resembles the smaller brother of the Glock 34 in many ways and falls in the same category as the SIG P365XL and Springfield Hellcat PRO. The longer 4.17 inch barrel provides a better sight line than the shorter Glock 43X.

Other features include a light red magwell for recoil and the classic Glock Safe Action Trigger system. The lack of a finger stick makes the gun easier to hold and feel easier to hold than previous generations with fingerprints. This Glock 48 MOS comes with a semi-glossy nPVD coating that provides an excellent black finish while providing high resistance. I have taken my Glock 48 MOS to the range probably ten times now. For a small gun, it sure falls like a compact or full size gun. The standard Glock sights are plastic and some of you will quickly switch to metal sights, but the overall design is light and very easy to pick up with both sights. I wish Glock would have included an option for 48 gauge plates instead of having the customer purchase the plates separately. I understand their point and this way the customer buys the plate they need instead of having many plates to replace, but it's an extra step after they decide on an eye The front part is not usable by anyone, but for young shooters who press the checker, it works well.

The trigger on my Glock 48 MOS is one of the best out of the box Glock triggers I've hit in a long time. The 5.5 pound break is light and crisp with a short reset. There are a few companies that do wholesalers if you want to customize your gun, but factory builds are better than retail. When it comes to the count, I have about 725 rounds through the Glock 48 MOS so far, no flaws in my testing.

I shot a lot of Federal American Eagle 115gr guns with Stand1Armory 115gr bullets and even two boxes of Federal HST 124gr self defense ammo and they were perfect. The recovery was the most efficient and 100% reliable from the factory or the Shield Arms 15-round magazines. Coming from Glock, it's not surprising, but it's good to test a new gun to make sure it's completely reliable.

One of the most common handguns on the market today is the older brother of the 48, the Glock 19. The Glock 19 is slightly thicker than the 48, but it is the same size, so if you are used to carrying the 48, it is very easy. Glock Size 19. The Glock 48 MOS went for a more discrete, less reflective black finish. Perhaps this was a good idea for a pistol designed to improve optics. Reducing reflections wherever possible is a good idea for an optically enhanced rifle.

The Glock 48 MOS uses an nDLC coating. This is a very hard, diamond-like coating. It has a high hardness of 3000 HV. The tennifer finish of the old Glocks was only half that. These are the same coatings that protect Glocks in service all over the country and the world, so they are proven and reliable. The gap created by the removable MOS plate is barely noticeable and sits cleanly and perfectly on the sled when the optics are not engaged.

The black bezel is a timeless and simple Glock design. The good news is that it works, looks professional and is no frills. You will find that many minimalist brands have large markings where the polymer molds meet, but this is not available on the Glock series pistols. As I mentioned earlier, the Glock 48 MOS is basically a Glock 19 on a diet. This slim and elegant pistol is 0.16 inches thinner than the Glock 19 with an overall width of 1.10 inches. The Glock 48 is slightly shorter than the 19 at 7.28 inches but manages to pack a slightly longer barrel at 4.17 inches. This slightly longer barrel allows the rifle to be sold in Canada without modification. Previously, the barrels of the Glock 19s were slightly elongated for sale in Canada.

The Glock 48 MOS holds ten 9mm rounds, and the Glock 48 MOS is compatible with Shield Arms' new clip. Shield Arms manufactures a metal magazine capable of holding 15 rounds in its handy design. For advanced control, I prefer the strongest setting.

The Glock 48 MOS is well suited for combat use and has a simple built-in security system. There is no need to think about disabling security; It is automatically disabled when you pull the trigger. The simple design of Glock pistols also makes it easy to customize and you can make the gun your own. Dropping a new trigger, sights, extended magazine releases, and other upgrades is relatively easy and can be done at home.

The modular optics is the most obvious design change to the Glock 48 MOS. Many may not understand why the red dot on the gun is so important. This is understandable and does not have to be. However, shooters using optically enhanced firearms have been shown to be faster, more accurate and more capable in low light conditions. The Red Dot Optic in the pistol does not require sight alignment, so firing the anchor point is easier and faster. New shooters can benefit from the red dot gun. Forward notches make it easy to operate the slider when the gun is equipped with a red dot sight. Glock thinks this pistol is very good and appears to have designed it to be a competent and functional combat pistol.

The Glock 48 works almost the same as the Glock 19. The thinner grip is more comfortable for me and probably for most people. The grip still flatters the hand and makes it a very comfortable option for a concealed carry pistol. I hate hanging pinky fingers and the G48 and G48 MOS pistols provide an easy and reliable grip on the pistol. This keeps the gun on target, especially when shooting fast.
